NaPodPoMo 2025 Easy Bible Study – The S.O.A.P. Method

Welcome to Simple Joe. I’m glad you’re here.

In today’s episode of Simple Joe, I share a simple but powerful way to study the Bible using the S.O.A.P. Method: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer — while reflecting on Philippians 4:8, which encourages us to focus on whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. I explain how this approach helps Scripture move from the page to the heart and turns Bible reading into a real conversation with God. We’ll also celebrate National Scrapple Day, Go to an Art Museum Day, and National Louisiana Day, and I talk about the first computer “bug,” which really was a bug. Plus, we look at a chilly forecast for both Iowa and Cincinnati and recognize a few well-known birthdays including Carl Sagan, Lou Ferrigno, and Nick Lachey. It’s a thoughtful Sunday episode about slowing down, focusing on the good, and remembering that memories are always better than stuff.
